“If we were meant to stay in one place, we’d have roots instead of feet” – Rachel Wolchin
Linda realized at an early age that she was born with a healthy dose of wanderlust. Her adventurous spirit inspired her to experience and learn about other countries, and her warmth and infectious love of exploring the world has drawn people to her.
Sometimes, disappointment provides fertile ground for growth. In fact, a disappointing experience with a travel agent in the early ‘80s inspired Linda to attend travel school in 1985 and subsequently earn the coveted designation of Certified Travel Counselor. Since then, she has crafted trips throughout the world for her clients while continuously traveling herself to continue to grow her invaluable experience.
While this curator is very much at home in luxurious surroundings, one of her fondest travel memories is a trip she didn’t plan! Linda’s husband surprised her to celebrate her 50th birthday. Whisked away on his private plane from their home in Kansas City, Linda was mesmerized by the view of the stunning turquoise water at 2,000 feet that served as the path to their primitive accommodations on a largely private island. Spending a few days living on the pages of a romance novel will quickly make one forget modern conveniences like air conditioning, television, and hot showers on demand, yet it will make for an unforgettable trip!
The saying “planes, trains, and automobiles” brings to mind the adventures of travel. Linda once designed elopement for a couple who wanted a truly exotic wedding. For good measure, she threw in a boat and soon they were living their unforgettable dream wedding on Matangi Island, Fiji!
While the devil is in the details when it comes to planning trips, Linda’s advice to her clients is to never panic when travel presents a curveball. She reminds clients that many times it is more about the journey than the destination.
